Tour 02 · Pattern, stone & the Armenian table

See how Armenia is shaped, cooked, painted and shared.

Four days through pink Yerevan and black-stone Gyumri — carpets, architecture, museums, makers' studios and regional cuisine. Tufenkian Historic Yerevan and Villa Kars are part of the story, not just where you sleep.

4 days · 3 nights Yerevan → Gyumri Carpets · museums · studios Group of up to 6 From £890 pp

This trip is for you if…

  • you travel for museums, architecture and makers — not only monuments from a bus window
  • you want to understand Armenian pattern: carpets, pink stone, black stone, colour on canvas
  • you care about who made the object and what the table says about a region
  • you like small groups (max six) and a host who curates access, not crowds
  • you're curious about Gyumri — Armenia's second city of art, humour and resilience
  • you believe food is cultural storytelling, not a break between sights

Good to know

Why Gyumri for two nights?

Armenia as Art is not a capital-only tour. Gyumri's black stone, museums and living makers need unhurried time — Villa Kars puts you inside the narrative.

Is this an art-history lecture tour?

No. We work with storytellers, artists and chefs — experience first, dates second. You leave understanding how a region feels, not only when a building was built.

Are there other price options?

Standard premium is £890 per person. We also model £790, £850 and £950 scenarios for different group economics — ask if you're planning a private departure.

What fitness level do I need?

City and Kumayri walks are on foot for one to two hours at a civilised pace. Days include stairs and cobblestone — comfortable shoes, not hiking boots.
